The Pre-school room
We have a new beautiful pre-school room built in the garden space in September 2017. The children seem to love this new space as they can really focus on their enquiries with their peers and teachers. Each of space is unique and equipped with specialised materials for the children to use to enable the children to express their ideas and theories for projects and for new enquiries to develop.
The environment is full of creative and natural materials to enable the children to express and understand the world around them. The children encounter materials such as clay, paints, recycled and natural objects for which they can use to construct, build and piece together their own compositions.
Rachel is the atelierista and Early Years Teacher in the preschool room and works closely with educators in creating rich and well resourced learning spaces. Rachel combines current interests and fascinations to more structured teachings that she plans for the children who will be attending reception class the following year. These experiences take place in our wonderful summer house in the garden where child are given time and space to focus on their own independent learning. Samantha is the pedagogical lead and supports the development of the projects and enquires within this space as well as the other rooms.
