We have made the best efforts to open however due pipes being frozen we have no running water and we are closed. See you all Monday.
We currently have staff at the nursery trying to heat it up as it’s very cold. The pipes are currently frozen someone is coming down to see if they can be unfrozen. We will keep you updated if we are able to do this if not we will remain closed.
We will try to open this morning depending on if we have water. Someone is getting there for 8am to have a look if we aren’t able to open we will post again. All the conditions written below apply and please only bring your children if you absolutely need to.
Dear parents and carers, if it is safely possible to do so and only if the extream weather holds off then we will open at reduced hours tomorrow from 9am till 4pm. This will aid staff being able to travel safely to and from work and give the building a chance to warm up. These are the conditions of bringing your children in and the journey to and from nursery is at your own risk. (1) The nursery will open between 9am - 4pm, if the weather worsens throughout the day we will ring parents and they will need to collect their children as soon as possible. (2) ONLY bring your child if ABSOLUTELY necessary due to dangerous travelling conditions. (3) There will also be reduced staff if their children's schools are shut or for staff who have to travel further to work. (4) The campus have stated we are NOT allowed to drive onto site so please park outside and walk in. (5) We have spoken to the campus site manager who has said Red Lion Lane has not been gritted and the roads and pavements are extreamly icy. (6) Check here again tomorrow as if the weather does not improve we will not be able to open. Danni will be speaking to the site manager about 7am in the morning and it is his final decision if the nursery can open. We have attached below a section from the contract that all closures must be paid in full however as a good will gesture we will cancel the inset day closure in May.
The nursery is closed today Thursday the 1st of March due to extreme weather conditions
Dear parents and carers. We would like to give you a early warning that it is most likely we will not be able to open until this coming Monday the 5th of March. As you are aware the weather conditions are severe and it is the freezing temperatures that are causing us the most concern. The nursery’s portacabin buildings will be freezing and we will have no running water and even though we have heating this will take an extremely long time to heat the rooms. Additionally the campus will be closed as the site manager has to make a decision to ensure the health and safety of all those accessing the site. However if the weather improves of course we will do our upmost to open. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but unfortunately it is out of our control and the safety and well being of all the children, parents and staff come first. We will still keep you updated on a daily basis. From management at Thames Tiddlers nursery.
Dear parents due to the heavy snow and weather warnings have been issued we have had no choice but to close today. The campus has also shut and is not open today. Snow is meant to continue on shooters hill from 11am till 4/5pm. Please keep updated on here and our website for the upcoming days. Stay warm and stay safe. Thank you.28/02/2018
At Thames Tiddlers Nursery our approach to Early Years Education is unlike some traditional settings, we are inspired by the unique and creative approach of the Reggio Emilia preschools and infant-toddler centres in Italy.
