At Thames Tiddlers Nursery we work on projects with the children rather then using the traditional approach of themes and pre-planning that take place in most nurseries. This way children use their own ideas and theories to support long term projects with the continuous support of the adult and the environment.
Alongside the projects we support the children's interests and fascinations which are documented through written text, observations and photography. Staff then focus on enhancing the environment to further provoke and engage the children relating to their initial interest and fascination. In the baby and toddler room most of the encounters take place from children's current interests by staff introducing new and exciting equipment, materials and experiences for the children to explore.
